  adrienne started getting in and out of maddie's little tikes car today!!! it was so cute. she just opened the door, pulled herself to standing and lifted one leg in, then wiggled her way all the way in. she's so tiny it was hilarious to watch. she can't walk yet but is able to do so many physical things! we are amazed.

  for a while now whenever we pull out a bottle of purell, adrienne starts wiping her hands. i was pretty surprised by this because we don't use it on her and she was so young when she started doing this. today when i said let's go wash our hands to maddie and her cousins, adrienne started rubbing her hands together! i'm always amazed at how much she comprehends already. the other day she was trying to help me with the laundry by putting clothes in the dryer. it was so cute!

  brian was looking at his phone today and maddie said "are you checking your email?" brian said yes as he started putting away his phone and maddie said "there was nothing important, right?" the way she says things (her tone and the colloquial terms) is so amazing. she talks like an adult! from the expression on brian's face and his actions, she could tell there was nothing urgent in his email.
  
  yesterday maddie had a playdate with her friend jessi. they went into our guestroom and entertained themselves for a good 30 minutes without any adult supervision. no fighting over toys, no crying or whining, just a lot of pretend play. they have officially left the twos and are playing like big girls.

  when i sing the itsy bitsy spider, adrienne tries to do the hand motions! she's does the "wiped the spider out" motion and is learning the others.
  
  this morning she was sitting on the floor whimpering so i put my arms out to pick her up and she started clapping with a big smile on her face. once i picked her up, she put her hands on either side of my face and gave my cheek a big kiss and nuzzle. my heart was melting.
