  when you ask adrienne if she wants to do her hair, she starts playing with her hair. if you ask her if she wants to take her shirt off, she starts lifting up her shirt.
  
  today i could smell a poo-poo and i asked adrienne "who did a poo-poo?!" and she put both her hands on her chest as if to say she did! i asked her a few times and she kept doing the same thing with a big grin on her face.

  i picked maddie up from school today and she gave me a cookie she had decorated and a really cute card she made for mother's day. she was so excited to give them to me i nearly started crying. it was so sweet!! then while we were getting in the car she said "daddy and i are also getting you flowers for mother's day. but it's a secret so don't tell anyone except the family." hee hee. i guess she's sort of getting the concept of what a secret is??

  a lightbulb must have gone on in adrienne's head. in the past month and a half, she has started crawling properly, climbing up anything she can get her little body onto (stairs, maddie's chairs, maddie's cars, stepstools, etc), and she can walk with the help of anything that she can manage to push across the floor. she understands all kinds of language now (go sit in your chair, clean up, etc). this morning she kept dropping her sippy cup on the floor. finally as she was dangling it off the side of her highchair (for the 5th time!) i said, adrienne do not drop that again. i'm not going to pick it up if you do it again (in a very stern voice). she pulled the sippy cup back onto the tray and started crying. it was so funny!
  
  maddie has been so incredibly mature and patient with adrienne lately (even though adrienne pretty much destroys and grabs anything maddie is playing with). maddie understands that adrienne is a baby still and she has the maturity to not get upset with her (usually :)). she does get frustrated though. the other day she said to brian "i don't love adrienne." brian told her that's not nice and she needs to love her only sister. then maddie said "fine, i love her but i don't know how much i love her." then she said "i just wish adrienne would grow up faster." hee hee.
